Unlocking Productivity
Graham Barnes
Design Consultant
Graham is one of the founding members of HHB Architects, and before that a Project Architect at Oxford Architects Partnership in the UK. He holds a post graduate qualification in Architecture and Project management, and has been active in the industrial design space both in Africa and the UK for over 35 years. Graham started his professional training at University of Brighton and later at Oxford Brookes University.
Following a wide range of experience in different industrial processes, Graham developed a design team management skill template based on an inclusive and homogeneous way that enables participation and contribution of all members. Communication, inclusive procedures and agreed responsibilities help team members in understanding their role, and ultimately deliver team-effort unique solutions.
Particular attention is always given to the development of the project brief to ensure that client’s requirements are correctly interpreted from the outset and are translated into deliverable schemes, thus ensuring fit-for-purpose developments. “Value engineering” exercises structured to maximize value are usually incorporated at the design stage as a positive response to changing circumstances.
Some of Graham’s projects include Cambrian Marina/Bayscape Cardiff UK, First World Communities Lagos Nigeria, Berkeley Homes, Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire UK, Firoka/NatWest Bank Heythrop Park Oxfordshire UK, NatWest Bank plc, London, Wyeth Laboratories Taplow, Berkshire UK, Labadi Beach Development Accra Ghana.
